WHSN 89.3 FM, the Husson University radio station staffed by Radio Broadcasting NESCom students announced details Friday on their long-running AS4MS benefit concert.?The AS4MS (full name: the Acoustic Showcase To Benefit the National MS Society) started 9 years ago when then radio students Nate Hicks and Nykki Spencer hosted an open mic event in the Husson College Campus Center. Since then, the student-produced show has grown to raise thousands of dollars that go directly to the Greater New England Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society).
The Greater New England Chapter of the National MS Society helps people affected by MS by funding research, facilitating professional education, and providing programs and services that help people with MS and their families move their lives forward.
For 2012, WHSN will bring Boston-based band A Loss For Words?to the Gracie Theatre as headliners.
Local support will come from Beyond Goodbye of Hampden. More bands will be announced as the event draws closer. This year?s event will take place at the Gracie Theatre at Husson University on Friday, September 21st at 7:30 pm.?The event is sponsored by The Maine Edge and Verizon Wireless.

Since 2009, WHSN?s AS4MS has become a great example of NESCom students working together across departments. In addition to Radio Broadcasting, the AS4MS includes Video Production, Entertainment Production, Live Sound Technology, Marketing Communications and digital photography students.
