my samsung galaxy s2 wont turn off?

My phone has been acting really strange. Every time I go to turn it off it powers itself back on Immediately. The only way to power it off is to take out the battery. But whenever I insert it back it turns on right away.

Sometimes it vibrates uncontrollably with the MTP Initializing notification going on and off when I take it off the charger.

To me this sounds like a hardware issue. I've already tried using compressed air on the micro USB port. I'm using android version 2.3.6. Any help would be great
